Evidence 1 - 91 Christians signed a list that declares the good of Rebecca Nurse, Martha Corey and Elizabeth Proctor

Why? It was to help defend the girls in court to show they are not witches. Defending them to not be hanged.

Dealt With? Danforth looked at the list and questioned it. He then sends out arrests for all the people who signed it for further questioning

Evidence 2 - Giles heard from a guy that Ruth cried out Goethe Jacob’s as a witch for land

Why? There was an alternative motive to get the land. The Putnam daughter calling him a witch would get rid of him for his land.

Dealt with? Danforth has Giles arrested for contempt in court because he wouldn’t say who told him about George Jacob’s .

Evidence 3 - Mary Warren is saying that everything the girls did or said was all a lie

Why? She did this because it would end all of the trails since it is just about the girls doing witchcraft

Dealt with? Abigail and the other girls had been copying Mary like her spirt was in them and Abigail had “seen” “a bird”

Evidence 4 - John Proctors confession about his affair with Abigail

Why? It was to help his wife because she was an honest person so she wouldn’t have to say it. He is saying Abigail is getting revenge on him to make her look bad and unreliable.

Dealt with? Danforth brings in Elizabeth to speak but Procter and Abigail have to turn away from her
