Hermia- I still dont trust this forest. It feels alive, as if it’s hiding secrets beyond our sight.
Its morning now. What could go wrong. The light is warm and soft, but something still makes me feel anxious.
Demetrius- After last night id prefer normal. I need time without such hassle.
Still…something feels strange
Demetrius: Let’s not find out.I just want to trust the simple world.
Lysander: Hermia… you seem different today. It seems like you’ve seen something no one else has.
Helena: No. No, not again.
Lysander: I can’t explain it… something just feels different again. It's like the forest is shifting and messing with our thoughts.
Hermia: (looking around) Puck! I know you’re here! Step out and stop hiding!!
Puck: (grinning) Did someone call? I can hear the doubt…
Demetrius: My thoughts feel strange too.
Puck: (walking around them) Only a tiny bit of magic. Just enough to make things interesting.
Helena: Right now.
Puck: (shrugging) Where’s the fun in that? If everything were perfect, life would be so boring.
Demetrius: (frustrated) This isn’t funny!
Puck: (teasing) I think it is. This confusion is the best part.
Hermia: Love shouldn’t be controlled like this.
Puck: (slowing, more thoughtful) Hmm… perhaps you’ve learned something after all. Evidently, your hearts are stronger than any spell I can cast.
Demetrius: And choose for ourselves.
Puck: Fine. You’ve taken all the fun out of it. I suppose even a fairy has limits!
Puck: Let foolish hearts be clear once more, Return to what they were before!
Hermia: Where’s Lysander?
Lysander: Hermia? There you are.
Hermia: (relieved) You’re back to normal.
Lysander: (touches shoulder) Of course.
Demetrius: Agreed.
Puck: (calling after them) Remember well this forest’s play, Love may twist, but finds its way!
[Puck remains alone, stepping forward.]
Puck: A little mischief, now and then, keeps life from being dull for men!
Demetrius: (looking around again) Not again…
Lysander: It has to be Puck! I’ll go find him
[Lysander quickly exits and Puck enters]
Puck: (quickly) Oh, that? Probably nothing.
Demetrius: Puck…
Puck: (backing up slightly) Now don’t look at me like that
Hermia: What did you do?!
Puck: (defensive) Nothing! Well… almost nothing.
Hermia: This forest is still playing with us.
Puck: (realizing, a bit surprised) Oh… wait.
Puck: (more serious) That wasn’t me.
All: (together) What?
Puck: The magic… It's still in the forest itself.
Demetrius: So it wasn’t just you?
Puck: I may have started it…But now the forest is finishing it.
Helena: What does that mean?
Puck: It means… one last test.
Hermia: Of what?
Puck: (smiling slightly) Of whether your love is real without any magic at all.
Helena: (taking his hand) We choose each other.
Puck: (relieved, a little impressed) Well… that was easier than I expected.
Demetrius: Or maybe you’re just losing your touch.
Puck: (mock offended) Never!
Hermia: Now, can we leave?
Puck: (bowing slightly) Yes… this time, for real
[Puck exits and Lysander re-enters]
Lysander: I couldn’t find him.
Helena: He appeared right after you left
Lysander: Oh… did I miss anything
The air… it’s different. Alive, almost, as if it knows us.
Lysander: Alive? Or merely conspiring to test our hearts once more?
Helena: Magic or no magic, our love remains.
Lysander: (with quiet determination) Even if it whispers secrets, shifts shadows, or plays tricks
Helena: Perhaps it was not we who were tested, but the forest itself, learning to trust in love.
Lysander: Or perhaps it simply delights in a well-spun tale
[The four lovers exit together, calmer and confident.]
Puck: (final monologue) Though tricks may start and spells may play, True hearts will always find their way. For magic fades with morning light… But love endures beyond the night.
