What does the degree of certainty and uncertainty have to do with 'prospector and defender' strategies?
A prospector organization thrives in an uncertain environment. This is because the prospector strategy involves actively seeking out new opportunities, markets, and innovations, often through exploration, experimentation, and risk-taking. A defender organization, on the other hand, tends to be more successful in an environment with high certainty. In this type of environment, the market conditions, customer needs, and competitive dynamics are relatively stable and predictable.
