British colony could supply cheaper materials, population was growing, good supply of coal and iron, there were a lot of inventors at the time

He was a lwayer and social reformer who devoted his life to improving sanitation in Britain. He was chosen to make a report on the cause of cholera

The dirty conditions of the factories and bad drainage led to cholera spreading so much. He suggested every city should have a sewer system and clean water

How did the James Watt steam engine work?

Hot water was turned to steam by the coal and fire. This steam traveled up into a cylindrical shaped object and then, as it got hotter and expanded, pushed up a piston/s. This was connected to a crank on a flywheel to make rotary motion.
