Sequence Nest Toggle

Insert or overwrite sequences in the form of nests or individual clips

Snap (S)

Allows whether items in the timeline snap to each other after they are manipulated. On by default.

Timeline Track Target

Controls which tracks are affected by commands executed on the timeline panel (copy/paste, navigation)

Source Track

Represents the tracks available in the clip currently displayed in the Source Monitor or selected in the Project panel.

Toggle Track Lock

This button toggles locking on and off. Locking a track makes the content uneditable.

Toggle Sync Lock

This button toggles sync lock on and off. Sync lock keeps track in sync when certain edits are done.

Audio File

The original source audio clip imported into the Timeline.

Timecode

Displays the location of the playhead.

Linked Selection

Toggles whether video and audio clips remain linked on the timeline, allowing them to be selected, moved, and trimmed together as a single unit

Add Marker

Clicked to add a marker to the timeline

Timeline Display Settings

Used to open settings menu

Toggle Track Output

Turns visibility of the entire video track on/off. Useful for hiding layers.

Track Header

The area left of the Timeline track, where many track configuration adjustments are made

Playhead

Marks the current frame of the window shown in the Program Monitor.

Time Ruler

Allows you to navigate through the timecode of your clips or your sequence. Time always goes from left to right  (Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Frames)

Video Tracks

Manages video files that were imported into the Timeline.

Video File

The original source video clip imported into the Timeline.

Drag Between Tracks to Resize

Change the height of tracks in the Timeline panel to gain access to additional controls and thumbnails on your video clips.

Record Voiceover

Used to record voice audio directly into the timeline.

Mute Track

Mutes the track’s audio during playback.

Zoom Scrollbar

Allows for zooming in and out on the active sequence in the Timeline panel, and allows for scrolling through a sequence’s contents if it’s longer than the visible area in the Timeline panel.

Timeline Panel Menu

Contains multiple configuration options for the Timeline.

Solo Track

Plays only that track’s audio during playback.

Audio Tracks

Manages audio files that were imported into the Timeline.
