Equality of Condition

The belief that people should be as equal as possible in relation to the central conditions of their lives.

Direct Discrimination

When an individual or group of individuals receives less favourable treatment than another individual or group because of their personal traits or history.

Indirect discrimination

When there is an unfair regulation or policy that applies to everyone but unfairly targets certain social groups.

Child Mortality

The death of a child before his or her first birthday.

Genocide

The deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.
