Explain Muslim attitudes towards Kutub

- Muslims believe that Allah revealed holy books to other prophets who came before Muhammad
- e.g The Psalms were revealed to David, The Gospel was given to Jesus
- Quran states : we sent inspiration to Isa...and to Dawud we have the Psalms

- these books that were revealed to previous prophets are considered corrupted, and aren't holy anymore
- their meaning has been lost due to overtranslation
- other holy books include the Sunnah and the Hadith, words and actions of Muhammad
- not as holy as the Quran, but they provide guidance
