What is current?
The current is the amount of charge flowing per second
What flows in the charges? (current)
Electrons (they are negatively charged). Leave the negative end of cell and travel to the positive side.
What is the unit for current?
Unit is Amps(A) and is measured with an ammeter.
What is potential difference?
Potential difference is the amount of energy transferred by the cell/battery to the charges.
What is the unit for potential difference.
Volts (v) and is measured with a voltmeter.
series circuit
Series circuit only have one loop . If one component breaks the whole circuit stops.
What is shared and what is the same in a series circuit?
The voltage is shared and current is the same.
parallel ciruit
Parallel circuits have more than one loop. If one component breaks the rest will still work
What is shared and what is the same in a parallel circuit?
Current is shared and voltage is the same.
Potential difference is the same as
voltage
Conductor
Allows electricity to pass through
Insulator
Prevents electricity from passing through
What is unit used for current?
