What is the difference between slow and fast twitch muscles?
Slow twitch muscles are slow to contract and have high resistance to fatigue. Whilst fast twitch muscles are fast to contract and have medium to low resistance to fatigue.

What are levers?
A rigid structure, typically a bone, with a force acting on it (muscle), to produce a turning movement (joint).
Examples of internal versus external forces.
Internal: concentric, eccentric, isometric. External: air resistance.
What do muscles do in the body?
Bind us together, helps us up, and allows us to move.
What happens when muscles contract?
Movement is generated from the contraction and relaxation.
How do muscle contractions contribute to muscle growth?
It causes them to get stronger over a period of time.
What is helpful in preventing injuries?
Biomechanics.
What does “proper technique” mean, and what is the proper technique for running?
It means the correct way something is done, and the correct to run is to take big steps and swing your hands in opposite directions to propel you forward at a faster rate.
What is one warm-up and cool-down activity for figure skating?
Static stretching such as extending the calf muscles and hip flexors helps prepare the body for the vigorous exercise and gradually increase heart rate, and a cool down would include a slight jog or easy stretch to lower and decrease heart rate.
What are the five steps of weight loss?
Staying physically active, managing your weight, eat healthy foods, adopt healthy habits, and getting help from loved ones.
How can tobacco or substance affect your fitness?
Because it hinders physical activity and athletic performance.
Why do you think nicotine is addictive?
Because it releases dopamine, making your brain crave the sensation even more, similar to scrolling videos on your phone.
What are some of the long-term affects of tobacco or substance use?
Brain/heart/lung complications and issues, addictions, brain development, and it encourages other risky behavior such as drunk driving and unprotected sex.
How would you dress for summer physical activity to protect your skin from harmful UV rays?
Dress in a light-weight long sleeve to protect your skin and apply plenty of sunscreen.
What are some examples of environmental concerns?
Rainy weather, extreme cold/heat, and poor air-quality.
