Electrical Conduction System of the Heart
Sinoatrial node (SA node) → Atrioventricular node (AV node) → Atrioventricular bundle (AV bundle) → Conduction myofibers (Purkinje fibers)

Muscle impulse is generated at the sinoatrial node. It spreads throughout the atria, and to the atrioventricular node via the internodal pathway

Atrioventricular node cells delay the muscle impulse as it passes to the atrioventricular node

The atrioventricular bundle conducts the muscle impulse into the intraventricular septum

Within the interventricular septum, the left and right bundle branches split from the atrioventricular bundle

The muscle impulse is delivered to subendocardial branches (Purkinje fibers) in each ventricle and distributed throughout the ventricular myocardium
