Sanctifying Grace
The grace that heals our human nature wounded by sin and restores us to friendship with God by giving us a share in the divine life of the Trinity. It is a supernatural gift of God, infused into our souls by the Holy Spirit, that continues the work of making us holy.

A sign of repentance and change.
Why was John baptizing people?
John was the forerunner of the Messiah and the last prophet. John was baptizing and calling people to repentance to prepare the way for Jesus.

Mark, Matthew, and Luke, but also referenced in John.
Why was Jesus Baptized?
"To fulfill all righteousness", to be a good example so that all can follow him, repent and be baptized. Signifies the paschal mystery (his dying and resurrection).
What 3 things happen when Jesus is Baptized and what do they mean?
The heavens are "torn open," the "Holy Spirit descends on Jesus," the voice from heaven speaks, "this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." These aspects show Christ's divinity, foreshadows the paschal mystery and what Baptism does for us.
What is the Kingdom of God? Describe in detail.
The world that Jesus came to create here on Earth. Identifiable, not by ethnicity or borders, but by witness and good actions of the followers of Christ.
How did Jesus proclaim the Kingdom of God?
Calling people to repentance: "Turn away from sin and believe in the Gospel." Preaching and teaching about it openly. Frequently using parables.
Why did Jesus perform Miracles?
To show forth his divinity as the Son of God. The miracles Jesus performed for some, demonstrate the salvation that he offers for the many who believe in Him and follow Him.

Nature, Healing, Exorcism, and Resurrection
What are Christ's healings a sign of?
His compassion and mercy for those who are suffering, outcast, or marginalized.
How does Jesus heal?
With words or with physical touch, sometimes with other signs and symbols (mud, spit, a "groan").
How does Jesus perform exorcisms?
By a word of command.

Man born blind and the Centurion's servant.

Matthew ended his despised career as a tax collector, as he had faith and saw something in Jesus. This shows that every human has a path to redemption.
Does Jesus know he is going to die? How do we know?
Yes, he shows fear and sorrow during the Agony in the Garden. (Several other examples)
What was the Transfiguration a sign of?
Jesus' divinity.
How are Adam's disobedience and Christ's obedience related?
In Adam's disobedience, sin was created. But in Jesus' obedience, sin was crushed.
