What is a ray in geometry?
A ray is the part of a line consisting of a point on the line, called the endpoint, together with all of the collinear points on one side of the endpoint.
What are opposite rays?
Two collinear rays with a common endpoint that form a straight angle measuring 180°.
What constitutes an angle?
An angle is formed by a pair of rays that have a common endpoint, called the vertex.
What is the definition of congruent angles?
Angles that have the same measure are congruent.
What is an angle bisector?
A ray or segment that divides an angle into two congruent parts.
What is a linear pair?
A linear pair is a pair of adjacent angles with noncommon sides that are opposite rays, and the sum of their measures is 180°.
What are complementary angles?
Two angles that add up to 90°.
What are supplementary angles?
Two angles that add up to 180°.
What is the significance of perpendicular lines?
Perpendicular lines intersect at right angles, forming four right angles.
What are adjacent angles?
Angles that lie in the same plane, have a common vertex, and a common side but no common interior points.
