Reporting: Fabrication of data

• When reporting data the research must not exclude data that conflicts with their hypothesis

• they should not exaggerate data or only focus on supportive data.

Repoting : Anonymity

• researchers must snsure that nobody can identify the participants in the research

• Should not be named

• can result in stigma if participants are identifiabe

Reporting: Inform participants beforehand

• Participants should be informed about how the results and the data will be used at the conclusion of the research and where it will be reported.

Reporting: Right to withdrawl

• Participants must be informed that they can withdraw their data before it is reported.

Applying: Care for social groups

• If there is a socially sensitive topic, when results are applied, it might result in stereotyping and discriminating against a particular group within society.

Applying: Not representative sample

• Due to bias and a lack of control over variables, the researchers should be tentative when applying conclusions to a wider population.

Applying: Care for the individual

• If there is a socially sensitive topic and when results are applied it might result in the person seeing the findings and then internalizing them and behaving in accordance with them.

• This is known as a self-fulfilling hypothesis.

Applying: Temporal validity

• Care needs to be taken when applying the findings of studies that have been completed a while ago, as they might no longer accurately reflect the societal norms and behaviors.
