Reporting: Fabrication of data
When reporting data the research must not exclude data that conflicts with their hypothesis
they should not exaggerate data or only focus on supportive data.
Repoting : Anonymity
researchers must snsure that nobody can identify the participants in the research
Should not be named
can result in stigma if participants are identifiabe
Reporting: Inform participants beforehand
Participants should be informed about how the results and the data will be used at the conclusion of the research and where it will be reported.
Reporting: Right to withdrawl
Participants must be informed that they can withdraw their data before it is reported.
Applying: Care for social groups
If there is a socially sensitive topic, when results are applied, it might result in stereotyping and discriminating against a particular group within society.
Applying: Not representative sample
Due to bias and a lack of control over variables, the researchers should be tentative when applying conclusions to a wider population.
Applying: Care for the individual
If there is a socially sensitive topic and when results are applied it might result in the person seeing the findings and then internalizing them and behaving in accordance with them.
This is known as a self-fulfilling hypothesis.
Applying: Temporal validity
Care needs to be taken when applying the findings of studies that have been completed a while ago, as they might no longer accurately reflect the societal norms and behaviors.
