What are I-V graphs used for?
These graphs show how the current through a component changes as you change the voltage across it. To find the resistance, you would use the previous equation and find the voltage and current from the graph.

Graph Slope
Indicates resistance; steeper slope means higher resistance.

Examples - 1
Filament lamp - This would show a stretched, S-like curve. This is because the temperature is not constant - increasing the voltage would increase the temperature, which in turn increases the resistance. This is what makes it curved.

Examples - 2
Resistors and Wires - The temperature on these is constant, meaning the curve would be straight.
