rough ER has ribosomes, a sight of protein synthesis and transport.

smooth ER has no ribosomes, synthesises lypids, metabolizes carbohydrates, and stores calcium.

flagella

only found in sperm cell. creates movement for sperm to get to egg.

cilia

hair like structure for movement, mostly found in respiratory tract

ribosome

small structure that synthesises proteins, can be found in cytoplasm and rough ER

microfilaments

thin protein filament that helps with shape, support, and movement of cell.

lysosome

vesicles with digestive enzymes. breaks down waste and damaged organelles.

microvilli

increases surface area for absorbtion

mitosis

the process of cell division, makes a copy of another cell

transcription

process where the DNA code is coded to the messenger RNA in the nucleus. RNA is the copy of DNA

translation

where ribosomes read the MRNA and assemble amino acids into proteins using transfer RNA
