The word Element came from the Latin and Greek word: __________, ____________. It is a principle or component part. It is basically a part of an aspect of something abstract, especially one that is essential.

Character

It is a person, sometimes an animal, who takes part in the action of the story. There are 2 most important, which are the Protagonist and Antagonist.

Setting

The plase (locale) and time (period) when the story happens is called the _______.

Plot

It is the actual story, what the story is all about. It is also the series of events of the characters’ action.

Conflict

Problem faced by the character. The conflict happens where characters are against each other.

Theme

The central idea in a short story and a general truth.

Omniscient Third Person, Limited Third Person

The way the story is told or narrated is the Point of View. There are three, namely:

1. First person - the narrator participates in and tells the story.

2. ________ - the narrator is not in the story.

3. ________- the narrator is not in the story and considered as the actual narrator only.
