Pupil
The pupil is an opening in the center of the iris that regulates the amount of light that enters the eye, allowing for optimal vision.
Lens
The lens is a transparent structure in the eye that focuses light onto the retina, allowing for clear vision at varying distances.
Retina
Sends nerve impulses to the brain via the optic nerve
Optic nerve
A bundle of nerve fibers that transmits visual information from the retina to the brain, playing a crucial role in sight.
Rods
A light sensitive cell that works in reduced light. Theyre found throughout the retina and give us peripheral vision
Cones
A light sensitive cell that works in bright light and give us precise colour vision. Theyre concentrated in the macula.
Macula
An area in the middle of the retina at the back of the eye. At the centre of the macula the fovea contains only cone cells.
