Rehoboam
This man was told that he would become the new king of the ten tribes of Isreal. He built the golden calves in Bethal to keep people from going back to Jerusalem to worship.
Jeroboam
This man was the son of Rehoboam and the grandson of Absalom. He succeeded his father to the throne of Judah and continued the war with Jeroboam. He was not a righteous king.
Abijah
This man was the son of Abijah. He ruled righteously and removed all the false God’s of his father. He prayed for deliverance from the army of Ethiopia and God heard him.
Asa
This man killed all the descendants of Jeroboam. He also started building the city of Ramah so no one could go in or out of the city of Judah until Isreal was attacked by the Syrians at the request of king Asa.
Bassha
This man was the son of Jeroboam. He reigned for two years and did evil in the sight of Lord before he was overthrown by Bassha.
Nadab
This man was only king of Isreal for seven days.
Zimri
This man was the army commander when he was chosen to be king of Isreal. He bought a hill named Samaria and reigned it from there.
Omri
This man married Jezebell, the daughter of the king of Sidonia and he worshipped and erected an alter for Baal. He did more to make God angry then any other king before him.
Ahab
This man followed God and was rewarded with great wealth and peace. He built up the defenses of Judah and tore down the places of worship dedicated to the false Gods.
Jehoshaphat
This man was a prophet and a man of God in Israel during the reign of king Ahab. He did many mighty works including raising a widow’s son from the dead.
Elijah
This man had hidden men of God in caves when Jezebell cut them off.
Obadiah
This man refused to give his vineyard to Ahab, so Jezebell had him killed by hiring false witnesses to say they heard him curse God.
Naboth
The son of Jehoshaphat married Ahab’s daughter and did evil in the sight of the Lord.
Jehoram
This woman is the only queen mentioned in the book of kings and chronicles as the sole female ruler of a Jewish kingdom.
Athaliah
This man and his wife protected Joash and placed him on the throne. Under this man’s leadership, the Levites tore down the alters of Baal.
Jehoiada
This man was sent to Elisha by the king of Syria to find out if the king would die. Elisha wept because he knew that this man would become the next king of Syria and do evil things to Isreal.
Hazael
This king of Judah began his reign when he was just a child, and he reigned for forty years. Under him, the priest collected money from the people to rebuild the temple.
Joash
This prophet asked the people why they had abandoned God and at king Joash’s command, he was stoned.
Zechariah
This prophet of God was told to go to Nineveh but instead he tried to go to Tarshish instead.
Jonah
The reign of this king fulfilled the promise that the descendants of Jehu would rule Isreal for four generations.
Zechariah
This king of Isreal did many evil act including murdering unborn babies.
Menahem
This king of Isreal became a mighty king because he followed God. During his reign, he defeated the ammonites and forced them to pay tribute.
