1.According to Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised,
Previous Question can be applied in any of three
different ways. The first is to any immediately pending
debatable or amendable motion.

Step 2: The chair puts the question (or puts it to a

The content in the chair's announcement of the result of
a vote on a Main Motion has three parts. The last part
states the effect of the vote. What are the first two parts

A member rises and addresses the chair saying that he
"rises to a question of privilege ... ", and the chair
immediately directs the member to state his question of
privilege. The chair must then rule on two things before
granting or denying the request. What is one of those
