Task 1

You are visiting your grandmother. She would like to know about your school.  Describe to her your school day.

-Which subjects are you studying?

Io seguo la matematica, la scienza, la storia, e l’inglese.

-Which is your favorite class?

La mia classe preferita e la storia perché è molto facile. 

-Who are your teachers?

Loro si chiamano Signora Scala, Signora Vaiano, e Signora Tavernise.

-What do you enjoy about school?

Mi piace vedere i miei amici e imparare a scuola.

-What is your school like?

La mia scuola è grande e difficile.

Task 2

Your class is talking about favorite holidays and traditions. Share what yours is and how you celebrate.

-What is your favorite tradition or holiday?

La mia festa preferita è il Natale.

-When is the holiday or tradition celebrated?

Celebriamo il Natale il venticinque dicembre.

-With whom do you celebrate?

Celebriamo con i miei genitori e cugini.

Io e la mia famiglia andiamo a casa di mia zia.

Task 3

You are studying abroad in Italy.  Tell a friend about your favorite restaurant back home.

Il mio ristorante preferito è Toku.

-What type of food do they serve?

Loro hanno il sushi e il riso.

-What is your favorite dish?

Il mio piatto preferito è il pollo e il riso.

-What is the service like?

Il servizo è buono.

La ristorante è tranquilla 

-What are the prices like?

I prezzi e un po’ costoso.

Task 4

I am your friend.  You talk about the work you have to do around the house.

-Do you like to work around the house?

Si, mi piace lavorare in casa.

Io spazzo i pavimenti e pulisco la tavola dopo cena

-Do you clean your room or other rooms too?

Pulisco la mia stanza, la mia cucina e il mio soggiorno.

Task 5

You are speaking with your Italian teacher about your upcoming vacation plans.

Vado in Costa Rica.

Sono in Costa Rica per una settimana.

You are shopping in a boutique in Florence.  Have a conversation with the salesperson describing what you are looking for.

Voglio comprare i pantaloni.

Sono di taglia piccola.

Cero i pantaloni blu o viola.

-For whom is the item?

I pantaloni è per me.

Task 8

You did not go to school today and I visited your home to see how you are feeling.  Tell me how you are feeling.

-How are you feeling?

Non mi sento bene.

-What's wrong?

Mi fa male la testa e ho mal di gola.

-Are you going to the doctor?

Sì, devo andare dal dottore.

-When are you going to the doctor?

Domani andrò dal dottore.

Task 9

I am your friend.  While we are at the beach you notice some dark clouds in the sky.

-I see the clouds are dark over there.

Mamma mia! Non è buono.

-Do you think it will rain?

Sì, penso che pioverà.

-When do you think it will rain?

Penso che pioverà tra un'ora.

-Where can we go to stay dry?

Possiamo andare a casa mia.

Task 10

Your friend has just moved to your town.  Tell your friend about your town.

-Where do you like to go shopping?

Mi piace fare shopping al centro commerciale

-Are there a lot of good restaurants?

Sì, ci sono molti buoni ristoranti in città e vicino a casa mia.

-What do you like to do on the weekend in your town?

Preferisco giocare a calcio e guardare film.
