Altar
The central focal point in a church and a symbol of christ. It is the place where the sacrifice of the cross is made present and truly reencountered.. It is also the table of the lord to which the people of god are called to celebrate mass.

Canon
This word has a variety of meanings. The canon of scripture refers to the church's list of books of the bible. The canon of the mass is another name for the Eucharistic prayer. Canon law is the official body of laws for catholics.
Chalice
The cup used during mass that holds the wine before the Consecration and the Blood of christ after the consecration. It represents the cup used at the Last Supper and is a symbol of jesus' sacrificed and eternal life. Before jesus died, he prayed:"father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me;yet, not my will but yours be done.(luke22:42).
Creed
(from latin credo: I believe) Any statement of beliefs or principles.
Crosier
A staff that resembles a shepard's crook carried by bishops to signify their pastoral and authorative at the church.
Divine Revelation
God's activity in making himself and his divine plan known to the human race through works and deeds in human history.
Grace
(from Latin:favor) A supernatural gift from god to assist person in achieving salvation.
Miter
The tall, pointed hat worn by the bishop during liturgical celebration to symbolize his authority.
Monotheism
(from greek means mono+theos) The belief that there is a single, personal and transcendant God who is distinct from the world he created. Related:omnipotent
Omnipotence
The unlimited power and authority of God, which the exercises in wisdom and love for the fulfillment of his divine will.
Omnipresence
The unlimited presence of god in the universe he has created.
Omniscience
The unlimited knowledge of all things by god in which ther is a past, present, or future.
Paraclete
A name for the holy spirit, based on a word for "helper", or "advocate".
Polytheism
The belief and worship of many gods.
Alpha and Omega
These are the first and last letters of the greek alphabet. They appear together on the Paschal candle and signify the eternal presence of jesus christ. He is the beginning and the end. From the book of revelation 1:8 " I am the alpha and the omega says the lord god"the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty.
INRI
An abbreviation of the Latin phrase jesus Nazarenus Rex ludaeorum. The gospel of john(19:19) says pilate has this writen in three languages and put on Jesus' cross. It means "Jesus of nazareth, king of the jews."
Chi Rho
An ancient symbol for chirst. X(chi) and P(rho) are the first two letters in the greek word for christ, among other places this symbol can often be found on vestements worn by priests at mass.
IHS
The first three letters of jesus' name in Greek: iota(I), eta(H), sigma(S). This symbol is used by the society of jesus as it's seal.

Ignatius went to many universities. He got kicked out of two universities but persevered through. This shows that he converted from multiple universities and finally met people. Conversion is not a one time event. This is an example of Ignatius's development.

Ignatius is forming of discernment and education are related to me because I've developed my education and habits and religious things as well. I've gone to many private schools and I've learned many different things which helps me become a better person. The way that I have developed my religious practices by learning about them every day, and I also practicing them too. This is how my life is related to ignatius' life of developing education mentally.

Early Christianity
Is a persecuted religious community that began in 500 CE. It is illegal in the Roman empire and its earliest days, but within 300 years, it became legal and was recognized by the official religion of the Roman empire. The development led to cultural marks, such as the council of Nicea, and more.
Nicene Creed
Resulting in the version used by Christian churches around the world, the Creed affirmed that Jesus is truly God, and in response to a claim that Jesus was more than human, but less than God.
The Second Vatican Council
This council is the most recent council, was called for the purpose of renewing the church. Pope John, the fifth during his opening to the council, spoke of letting fresh air into the church. The council claimed every aspect of the church's life, making sure that catholic doctrine and religious practices were being taught, and lived in the way that would be most appropriate in today's world.
The pope
The pulp is the head of the Catholic Church and is based at the Vatican. The pope is responsible for the general leadership of the church, however as well as being the head of the Catholic Church, he is also the head of the Vatican, which is in an independent state within the Rome, Italy. The pope also makes numerous appointments of persons who occupy various administration and religious officials, both in Vatican and representing the church in different parts of the world.

A priest is an ordained minister who is responsible for administering most of the sacraments, including the Eucharist, baptism, and marriage. A priest can belong to a specific religion order or to be committed to serving a certain congregation.

There are two types of deacons. A transitional deacon is a seminarian who is studying for the priesthood while a permanent Deacon is a deacon who can get married and assist a priest by performing some of the sacraments
