Voltage
The potential for charge to move, measured in volts.
Current
The amount of charge flow, measured in amps.
Resistance
A wire's opposition to flow, measured in ohms.
Ohm's Law
The relationship between voltage (V), current (I), and resistance (R) given by V = IR.
Electrical System
A system involving the movement of charged electrons through wires, such as a lamp.
Analog System
A system where voltages can assume infinite values, like 0.15, 0.2, etc.
Digital System
A system treated as having two values, high and low, typically built with switches.
Transistor
A small switch with no mechanical parts, used in digital circuits.
Control Input
The terminal that controls an electronically controlled switch.
pMOS Transistor
A type of transistor that conducts when its control input is 0.
nMOS Transistor
A type of transistor that conducts when its control input is 1.
Circuit
A path through which electrical current flows.
Switch
An electronic device that conducts between two terminals when configured to 'on'.
Ground (0 V)
A reference point in an electrical system, usually represented by three line segments.
