What does spinoza mean by substance?
Substance is the one self-causing thing, infinite, and the cause of everything else, including god or nature
What are Natura Naturans and Natura Naturata?
Natura Naturans is the active self-causing substance (God/Nature), while Natura Naturata refers to the modes or things caused by it
Does Spinoza think God is free?
Nah he not, god dont have free will bc his actions come from necessity aka the nature of God (himself)
Do humans have free will?

What is the difference between adequate and inadequate ideas?
adequate ideas are true and comprehensive knowledge, it leads to true understanding, peace, and freedom, we become aligned to god/nature
inadequate ideas are incomplete/distorted, keeps humans in confusion, irrationality. They are tied to our passion and experiences and they are the source of our misery and misunderstanding
