  - these processes are called metabolism

• Germ cells

Germ cells

• also called as sex cells or gametes

• sperm cells and egg cells

• divided thru meiosis and the product contains haploid (n)

• sperm cells are produced in the seminiferous tubules (testes) while egg cells are produced in the ovarian Follicle (ovary)

• seminiferous tubules (testes) and ovarian follicle (ovary) are the precursor for the germ cells

• the germ cells and the precursor cells for the germ plasm of the body

  • germ plasm is made up of the germ cells and the precursor cells
