7: Y’know something?
I know lots of things. I’m in advertising
7: Y’know, its hot.
I never would have known that if she hadn’t told me. Would you?
2: I suppose not, i’d kind of forgotten.
All i’ve done all day is sweat
7: You’d think they’d at least air-condition the place. I almost died in court.
My taxes are high enough
3: I feel just fine, so long as I've got my crocheting.
I wonder what’s been going on down at the office. You know how it is in advertising. In six days my job could be gone-and the whole company, too. They aren't going to like this
F: Well I think this is our duty.
I did not object to not doing my duty. I Just mentioned that i might not have a job by the time i get back
F: And get caught, or something? You know what kind of a fine you could get for a thing like that? Anyway, this friend of my aunts was on a jury once, about ten years ago, a case just like this one.
So, what happened?
7: After six days, she doesn't know.
In six days I could learn calculus. This is A,B,C
3: I know what hard luck’s like, but i never killed no-body, either.
12: I’ve been kicked around, too. Wait until you’ve worked in an ad agency and the guy that buys the advertising walks in!
7: Right!
Certainly, if you insist
4: Thank you.
Sure
3: Yeah, lets.
I may have an idea here. I'm just thinking out loud now, but it seems to me that its up to us to convince this broad that we’re right and she’s wrong. Maybe if we each talk for a minute or two. You know-try it on for size
F: Now, lets stop the bickering
We’re wasting time
4: I certainly am
Let’s do it
7: Where’s the reasonable doubt in that?
That’s right. And lets not forget the woman across the street. She looked into the open window and saw the boy stab his father. She saw it!
3: Well, supposing you think about it. Want to see the pattern for a crocheted skirt my daughter sent me? It doesn't look very hard.
Wouldn’t it be out of style by the time you got it done?
4: Right.
So?
9: …This is very important…
And you’re trying to tell us he lied about a thing like this just so he could be important?
4: Don’t the circumstances alter that somewhat?
The old man was murdered.
4: I'm glad that we're going to be civilized about this.
Well, we’re still nowhere.
4: Maybe
Who’s got an idea?
4: Lets vote
Yes, vote
F: Twelve?
Guilty
3: You can’t ever convince me theres a doubt, because i know there isn’t no doubt.
I tell you what, maybe we are a hung jury. It happens sometimes.
F: Maybe we should vote
What do you mean, vote?
7: I agree, its the only way
Anything to end this
F: Twelve? (2)
Yes
4: If someone hates another person enough to kill him, dont you think that its reasonable to suppose that the murderer would look at his victim for a second or two?
Try to divorce yourself from this particular case. Just human nature
3: That’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard of. You’re making that up out of thin air.
We’re a hung jury. Let’s be honest about it.
3: Is that six inches?
That’s more than six inches.
8: He was even sent to reform school for knifing someone. Isn’t that so?
That’s right.
8: What do you think?
Well, I don’t know.
F: Let’s hear her. (him?)
I’m in advertising. I love to see things pulled together. Makes for good layouts. Let’s try to look at the whole picture to see if some pattern is there. Maybe we could try getting a fresh point of view.
4: What do you think about it?
Well, maybe… There’s so much evidence to sift…
4: But what can you say about the story of the woman? She saw it.
What time is it?
8: Can’t you see the clock without your glasses?
Not clearly
