assissted living
need some help, but do not need 24-hour care (in a facility apartment like style)

need some help and supervision but not in a facility, it can help provide a break for family members

24-hour skilled care given in hospitals, only for a short time for illness or post op

ombudsman
assigned by law as the legal advocate for residents- they visit facilities and talk with them
