Race
Categorization of people by skin color and phenotype- physical features that are shared to a certain degree by a given group
Ethnicity
Based on a shared common culture, including elements like language, religion, art, music, literature, norms, customs, practices and history
Social construction
Race is a social construct, defined by markers such as skin color, hair texture, eye shape, ancestry, identity performance and so forth.
Stolen Generation
Aboriginal - and some Torres Strait Islander - people who were forcibly removed from their families as children by past Australian State and Territory government agencies, and church missions, from the late 1800s to the 1970s under the assimilation policy (1951-1962).

Majority Group
The dominant group is the group that possesses the ability to discriminate by virtue of its greater power, privilege, and social status in a society.
Minority Group
A group of people who—because of their physical characteristics or cultural practices—are singled out and treated unequally.
Discrimination
The denial of equal treatment to individuals based on their group membership
Prejudice
A negative outlook towards a person/group based on perceived status or characteristics of that person/group.
Stereotype
Over-simplified, exaggerated, or unfavorable generalization about a group
Self-fulfilling prophecy
A prediction resulting in behavior that fulfills the prophecy
Racism
The belief that one’s own race is superior
