Ways to prevent identity theft:
strong passwords
memorization (not writing passwords down)
don’t get scammed (don’t give info to telemarketers)
check card statements, bank statements, and credit score often
What to do if you get your identity stolen:
contact credit bureaus
make sure calls/complaints are recorded or in writing - documented
close/freeze/cancel open accounts or cards with suspicious activity
file complaint with federal trade commission
if something was physically stolen then file a police report
