Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act (Perkins V)

On July 31, 2018, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act was signed into law. This bill authorizes the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV) and is more commonly referred to as Perkins V.

Perkins V affords states and local communities the opportunity to implement a vision for CTE that supports the range of educational needs of students — exploration through career preparation — and balances those learners needs with the current and emerging needs of the economy.
