KFERQ proteins

Proteins that contain the KFERQ pentapeptide sequence (or a similar sequence) and are selectively degraded in tissues that atrophy after a prolonged fast (starvation).

SGOT and SGPT

The presence of SGOT and SGPT in the serum indicate potential heart attack or liver damage.

A molecule that signals vasodilation and is synthesized from arginine by NOS.

Contains unique redox centers that contain both Fe and Mo. Also changes in conformation as a result of ATP hydrolysis.

Metabolite that is an important intermediate in the production of Trp, Tyr, and Phe and is a derivative of glucose.
