what are the interactions with ceftriaxone?

do not take this with alcohol because it will cause a disulfiram like reaction (hangover symptoms)

Azithromycin

Antibacterial Macrolide

who would you not give azithromycin to?

do not give to clients with liver dysfunction or hearing loss because this drug is ototoxic

should azithromycin be taken with food?

no, do not take this with food

what will happen to azithromycin if taken with antacids?

levels of this drug will be reduced if taken with antacids they should be taken 2 hours before or after administration

what are some adverse side effects caused my levofloxacin?

furry black tongue, vaginitis, superinfection, anal/genital itching, photosensitivity

Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole

what are some side effects of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole?

tinnitus, photosensitivity, vertigo, GI distress

what should a client not take with sulfonamides?

antacids

Antitubercular

what vitamin would a client be deficient of if they are on an anti tubercular?

vitamin b6 deficiency, and they will most likely be taking a b6 supplement while on isoniazid

what should a client continue to get while on isoniazid?

continual eye exams as the anti tubercular can decrease visual acuity and optic neuritis
