In the opinion essay, what should the topic sentence include?

• An opening sentence, that will directly answer the question by taking one clear side/argument

• And 2 more sentences for the opening sentence that each sentence will give a different overall reason why your opinion is correct. 

In the opinion essay, what should be included in your reasons and examples?

1. Repeat the first reason you gave in your introduction. 

2. Give a specific example from your life and/or knowledge that justifies (proves) the reason you just gave. 

3. Explain how the example proves your reason. 

4. Explain how the reason proves your overall opinion. Ex: (The more you think on how tigers are more friendly than lions, the more you are going to understand why tigers are more friendly)

In the opinion essay, what should the concluding sentence include?

1. Repeat your topic sentence

2. Repeat your reasons listed in your intro/topic sentence

3. A final creative sentence about your topic that sums up your opinion.

In the 100 word response, what format should you follow?

You follow the PEE Format. You don’t need a conclusion since the it’s 100-110 words max.

In the word “Also”, we can only use it if a sentence is commenting what something has. Ex: Parks also has candy’s. T or F?

False, we can use it if the sentence has, “Parks also have candy’s”.

Which one is correct. This gym is different ___ the one we went last year? then or from?

From.  The way the word “then” is spelled in the example means “next” or “Next up”. If the question used the word ‘than”, that would have worked as well because “than” means a contrast/comparison

In the 100 word response or the opinion essay, what should you not be putting in when you’re trying to prove your example in the beginning of the sentence?

Do not say something like “This example proves why…”. You need to be specific on how your proving it like “Incorporating these habits holds identity in your character because…”.
