A given number is written as a product of 2 numbers: a coefficient and 10 raised to a power

Significant Figures

Digits in the number that are reliable and absolutely necessary to indicate the quantity of something

The measurement must include all of the digits that are known with certainty, plus one final digit that is estimated

Temperature Scales

Water freezes: 273.15 K; 0° C; 32° F
