What are the lymphatic layers
Superficial and deep
Describe the flow of superficial lymph vessels that follow the great saphenous vein
They end in the superficial inguinal nodes. They then pass directly to external iliac nodes, however some may pass to deep inguinal nodes.
What is the flow of lymph nodes that follow the small saphenous vein
These enter the popliteal lymph nodes, which surround the popliteal vein.
What is the flow of deep lymph that accompany the deep veins
Enter the popliteal lymph nodes, they then ascend through deep lymphatic vessels to deep inguinal nodes. From here, they pass to the external and common iliac lymph nodes and enter the lumbar lymphatic trunk.
