Serving
Must be underhand and served diagonally into the opposite service box.
Serving Team
Only the serving team can score points.
Game Points
Games usually go to 11 points, but you must win by 2 points.
Double Bounce Rule
After the serve, the ball must bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed.
Kitchen (Non-Volley Zone)
The 7-foot no-volley zone near the net where you cannot volley while standing inside or on the kitchen line.
Kitchen Entry
You can enter the kitchen after the ball bounces.
Faults in Pickleball
Includes volleying in the kitchen, letting the ball bounce twice on your side, hitting the ball out of bounds, and serving faults.
Serve Rotation in Doubles
At the start, only one player serves for the serving team, and after losing a rally, the second server serves.
Court Size
20 feet by 44 feet.
Net Height
36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center.
Paddle Material
Paddle is made of wood or composite, NOT a tennis racket.
Balls Landing on the Line
Balls landing on the line are considered in.
Let Serve
If the ball hits the net on a serve and lands in the correct service box, it is a let serve and replayed.
Score Even or Odd
When the score is even, the server serves from the right side; when odd, from the left side.
