Reflexive Property

Any quantity is equal to itself

Symmetric Property

If a=b, then b=a

Transitive Property

If a=b and b=c, then a=c

Substitution Property

A quantity may be substituted (replaced) for any equal expression.

Properties of Equality

If a=c, then a - c = b -c (and so on)

Commutative Property

You can add/multiply the numbers in ANY ORDER

Associative property

When adding 3 or more numbers, you can move the grouping symbols (a+b)+c = a+(b+c)

Identity Property

The sum/multiplicative of any number and ZERO (0) equals that same number.

Inverse Property

The sum/multiplicative of any number and its additive inverse always equals zero (o)

Multiplicative Property of Zero

The product of any number and ZERO always equals zero
