Pretribulational rapture

The Church is raptured before the Tribulation (70th week of Daniel)

The church will be raptured partially or in stages depending on the spiritual condition of the individual

• Makes the tribulation a purgatory

Midtribulational rapture

The church will be raptured in the middle of the tribulation period

The trumpet that we see in Revelation 11:15 is equal to the one in 1 Corinthians 15:52

Midtribulational rapture- Refutation

• Matthew 24:31 (refers to a trumpet after the 7 trumpets)

• We have to judge trumpets based on context not just that it is a trumpet.

• There is no evidence for the church joining the two witnesses. 

• The two witness also did not get raptured, but ascended

• God’s wrath starts at the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel. 

• Seal 1 & 2 are warfare, Seal 3 is famine, Seal 4 is pestilence (Ezekiel 14)

Prewrath rapture

The rapture will occur about ¾ of the way through Daniel's 70th week but before the Day of the Lord occurs

The first six seals are not God's wrath but man's wrath

Christians are not appointed unto wrath and therefore cannot go through DOL

The tribulation should not be equated with Daniel's 70th week

Christians are raptured after the tribulation but before DOL

• The wrath of God is displayed in the first 6 seals. Revelation 5:1 Ezekiel 14:

• Christians do not go through DOL (1 Thess 5:9), but DOL begins with the first seal.

• The Tribulation Period is a designation which refers to all of Daniel’s 70th week. Daniel 12:1-2, 7; Matthew 24:15-22

Posttribulational rapture

The rapture occurs close to the end of the tribulation period

Posttribulational rapture- Support

1. Those who are saved in the tribulation are the church saints and therefore the church is in the tribulation. (Matt 24:31, the elect = church saints;Revelation 7:4-8)

2. The "meeting" in 1 Thessalonians 4:17- saints join Christ in the air and then escort him back to earth (Acts 28:18)

3. The trumpet of Matt 24:31= the one in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 and 1 Corinthians 15:52

Posttribulational rapture- Refutation

1. The "elect" refers to those saved during tribulation

(You must look at the context to determine who the elect are)

2. The context must decide the connotation of "meeting"

They must reconcile the "meeting" with John 14;3

3. Trumpets-Similarly does not prove identity
