GATE
Area where passengers congregate before boarding the A/C.
GIRT BAR
A metal bar attached to the escape slide used to arm/disarm the slide from the A/C.

Greenwich Mean Time.
GSC
Ground Security Coordinator.
HAL
Halon Fire Extinguisher.
HANGAR
An enclosed structure especially used for housing or repairing A/C.
HEADWIND
Wind that blows in the opposite direction of travel.
HOLDING
A flight that is waiting on the ground or in the air.
ICK
Infection Control Kit.
INBOARD
Jumpseat position that is closest to the aisle.
INBOUND
The A/C, flight crew, or anyone else arriving at a station.
INOP
Inoperative.
INTERMEDIATE STOP
Scheduled stops between the origination of a flight and the termination at the destination.
IOE
Initial Operating Experience.
ISC
Inflight Security Coordinator.

Jumpseat.
JETBRIDGE
Enclosed tunnel/passageway between the A/C and the terminal gate area that is power driven and controlled by the gate agent.
