Humanistic psychology emphasises free will, personal growth, and the uniqueness of individuals. It rejects determinism and focuses on subjective experience and the whole person

Humans are active agents who can choose their behaviour. This contrasts with deterministic explanations in other approaches and is central to humanistic psychology
