What are the features of embedded systems?
single microprocessor
programs stored on ROM
performs specific and limited pre programmed tasks
used to control a device with simple inputs
one purpose - cannot install new software
low cost per unit
typically very reliable - low risk of bugs developing
slower CPU speed than general purpose
They tend to require less power. Some devices run from batteries.
