Personality Disorder
Long-standing, inflexible patterns of thoughts and behaviors related to oneself and one’s environment that cause significant impairment or distress.
Cluster A
Includes Paranoid, Schizoid, and Schizotypal personality disorders which are characterized as odd or eccentric.
Cluster B
Includes Histrionic, Narcissistic, Borderline, and Antisocial personality disorders characterized as dramatic, emotional, and erratic.
Cluster C
Includes Avoidant, Dependent, and Obsessive-Compulsive personality disorders characterized as anxious or fearful.
Paranoid Personality Disorder
Characterized by pervasive distrust and suspicion of others, leading to significant interpersonal difficulties.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
Characterized by a lack of interest in social relationships, emotional detachment, and a restricted range of emotions.
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
Characterized by odd thinking, behavior, and perceptions, and may have ideas of reference or magical thinking.
Histrionic Personality Disorder
Characterized by excessive emotionality and attention-seeking behavior, often through manipulative means.
Borderline Personality Disorder
Characterized by instability in personal relationships, self-image, and emotions, along with impulsive behaviors.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Characterized by an exaggerated sense of self-importance, entitlement, and lack of empathy towards others.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Characterized by a disregard for the rights of others, deceitful and aggressive behavior, and lack of remorse.
Avoidant Personality Disorder
Characterized by social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, and a hypersensitivity to negative evaluation.
Dependent Personality Disorder
Characterized by a pervasive need to be taken care of, leading to clinginess and fear of separation.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
Characterized by a fixation on orderliness, perfectionism, and control without the presence of obsessions or compulsions.
