thrive in narrow range of conditions, narrower ecological niche that makes them more prone to extinction

specific food requirements, less ability to adapt to new conditions

have an advantage when environment is consistent

have a large home range

are geographically limited

ex: koalas, pandas, venus flytrap, cacti
