Cap Panel
The focal part of the interior which fills the inside of the crown, sometimes bordered by the roll (cove); may be referred to as the panel.
Perfection Half Couch
A casket in which the rim (ogee), crown, and pies are formed as one unit with a transverse cut in the cap, forming a two piece lid for the casket.
Perfection Full Couch
A casket in which the rim (ogee), crown, and pies are formed as one unit and which raises as one piece.
Head Panel
A component part of the casket interior which is inside the head portion of the cap; no distinction is made between the head panel and foot panel in full couch caskets
Foot Panel
A component part of the casket interior which is inside the foot portion of the cap
Inner Panel
Functional or ornamental covering that usually covers the foot end of the casket in the full couch casket; may be located at both the head and foot of the full couch casket.
The Fold
Gimp, Consists of a small strip of metal plastic or cloth attached to the inside of the panel that covers the area where the cover is anchored to the shell
The Cove
(roll, puffing) A component part of the casket interior which lines the rim (ogee) and surrounds the cap panel.
Overlay
The aesthetic covering for the foot cap or inner foot panel of the casket
Extendover
Covers the top body molding for aesthetic value and visual effect
Apron 1
A component part of the overlay that extends downward from the cap header and into the body of the casket
Hinge Covers
Skirts; Head and foot caps are affixed to a casket body with heavy - duty hinges and a hinge cover is employed to conceal these hinges from view
Body Linings
Material which drapes the compete inside perimeter of the casket to ensure no interior surface if the shell material is exposed
Casket Bed
The bed of the casket is where the remains of the decedent will rest.
Bed Frame, Mattress, Mattress Cover, Blanket (optional)
Casket Bed Frame
The white protective cap is removed to expose the hexagon-shaped keyhole and insert a casket key to rotate the corkscrew thereby raising or lowering the frame
Crepe
Is a light weight crinkled fabric weave it is one of the least expensive fabrics to manufacture and is often made from silk wool or synthetic fibers
Velvet
A fabric weave with a short, closely woven nap that presents a smooth, soft finish; It is one of the most recognizable fabrics because of its luxurious softness and beauty
Satin
One of the basic weaves. It has a smooth lustrous surface and may be used for the lining in coats and jackets. It is also used in making bed linens and sheets.
Linen Weave
Plain, Tabby Weave; Has long associated with the raw material made from a vegetable fiber found inside the woody stalk of the flax plant
Twill Weave
Easily identified by its diagonal weave lines. It is notable for its strength, durability, distinct texture and appealing design
Muslim Weave
A light weight cotton in a plain weave that comes in a wide range of weights. It os often used as the lining in Orthodox Jewish caskets

Shirred
A fabric has the material drawn or gathered in a parallel fashion by means of multiple needle head sewing process
Crushed
A form of interior style created by placing the lining material on a metal form, adding weights and using steam to give the lining a permanent crushed appearance
Tufted
Fabrics are created by placing padding between a lining and a backing material with subsequent stitches taken forming small raised puffs
Tailored
Fabrics is a tightly drawn style similar to tailored menswear suits. Optimized to follow the contours of the underlying surface
Semi - Tailored
interior is a combination of a tailored interior with one or more of the other styles for effect.
