Bacitracin Susceptibility Test
Used to determine the susceptibility of bacteria particularly gram-positive organisms to the antibiotic bacitracin.
Bacitracin Susceptibility Test
Differentiate between Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A streptococci) and other beta-hemolytic streptococci;
Bile Esculin Test
used to identify bacteria that can hydrolyze esculin in the presence of bile salts.
Bile Esculin Test
The test is primarily used to differentiate Enterococcus and Group D Streptococci (which are bile-esculin positive) from non-Group D Streptococci.
The Catalase Test
is used to detect the presence of the enzyme catalase in bacteria.
Catalase Test
Distinguish between genera such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus
The Coagulase Test
is used to detect the production of the enzyme coagulase by bacteria, which converts fibrinogen to fibrin, causing clot formation.
Coagulase Test
It is primarily used to differentiate Staphylococcus aureus (coagulase-positive) from other coagulase-negative staphylococci.
IMViC Test
Differentiating Escherichia coli from Enterobacter and Klebsiella species.
Indole Test
Detects the ability of the organism to convert tryptophan into indole.
Methyl Red Test (MR)
Measures the production of stable acids from glucose fermentation.
Voges-Proskauer Test (VP)
Detects the production of acetoin, a neutral fermentation product from glucose.
Citrate Utilization Test
Determines if the organism can use citrate as its sole carbon source.
Motility Test
is used to determine whether a microorganism is capable o independent movement through the use of flagella
Optochin Susceptibility Test
is used to differentiate Streptococcus pneumoniae from other alpha-hemolytic streptococci, particularly Streptococcus viridans.
Optochin Susceptibility Test
is an antibiotic that interferes with the APase and production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in microorganisms.
Triple Sugar Iron (TSI) Test
is a differential test designed to identify and differentiate among Gram-negative enteric bacteria based on their carbohydrate fermentation capabilities and hydrogen sulfide (HS) production.
TSI
The test is used primarily to differentiate members of the Enterobacteriaceae family from other gram-negative rods.
