Anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, an increased risk of self-harm and suicidal ideation, and increased instance if substance use disorders
Transexualism
Another manifestation defined as extreme gender dysphoria that has persisted “without fluctuations for at least 1-2 years”
What are important nursing considerations for patients with Gender Dysphoria?
Asking pronoun/name preference, use of gender inclusive language, complete mental health screenings, ensure patient has adequate support, and help provide a sense of community
