Homeostasis:

Ectotherms

cold-blooded organisms that s rely on external heat sources to regulate their body temperature.

Endotherms

warm-blooded organisms that generate their own heat.

Negative Feedback:

Processes that counteract changes (e.g., temperature regulation, blood sugar control, vasoconstriction/dilation)

Negative Feedback Example

The role of insulin and glucagon in maintaining glucose levels through negative feedback.

Homeostasis Importance

It includes regulating temperature, pH levels, and nutrient concentrations. Without homeostasis, cells would not function optimally, leading to potential health issues.

Positive Feedback:

Processes that amplify changes (e.g., uterine contractions during childbirth, ripening of fruit)

Positive Feedback Example:

Childbirth as a scenario where the body amplifies a process to achieve a goal.
