Prediction of the social identity theory
As people identify more strongly with a group, the basis of leadership perceptions, evaluations and edorsement becomes increasingly influenced by prototypicality
Identity/self concept
A collection of beliefs about oneself. Answering to “who am I?”
Social identity
The portion of an individual’s identity derived from perceived membership in a relevant social group. How individuals see themselves in terms of group membership “ we”.
Workplace/ organizational identification
The degree to which employees define themselves as members of their group/organization and experience a sense of oneness with the group/organization.
Depersonalization
The process of self-stereotyping through which the self comes to be perceived as categorically interchangeable with other group members.
License to fail
Followers allow prototypical leaders to fail because they think he/she is good for the group and do good for the group.
Self-enhancement motive
We want to maintain a positive identity and have a need for positive self-esteem.

Entails the embodying of the best version of the group/ “us”.
