On end carbon, double bonded O and OH

Carboxylic acid, end with oic acid

Two chains connected by an oxygen and a carbon double bonded to an oxygen 

Ester, count chain without oxygen, add “yl” then count chain with oxygen and add “anoate”

Triple bonded to a nitrogen at end

Nitrile, add “nitrile”

A nitrogen in the chain

Amine, add “amine”

On end carbon, double bonded oxeygen and nitrogen

Amide, add “amide”

Halogen in the carbon chain

Haloalkane, specifcy the carbon its on and add the chloro or whatever to the start
