Histrionic Personality Disorder
A pervasive pattern of excessive emotionality and attention-seeking, beginning by early adulthood and present in various contexts.
Histrionic Personality Disorder Symptoms
Uncomfortable when not the center of attention, inappropriate sexually seductive behavior, shifting and exaggerated emotions, vague speech, suggestibility, considers relationships more intimate than they are.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in various contexts.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder Symptoms
Grandiose sense of self-importance, fantasies of unlimited success, requests excessive admiration, interpersonally exploitative, lacks empathy, arrogant behavior.
Avoidant Personality Disorder
A pervasive pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, and hypersensitivity to criticism, beginning by early adulthood and present in various contexts.
Avoidant Personality Disorder Symptoms
Avoids activities due to fear of criticism, unwilling to get involved unless certain of being liked, shows restraint in relationships, views self as socially inept, reluctant to take personal risks.
Dependent Personality Disorder
A pervasive and excessive need to be taken care of that leads to submissive and clinging behavior and fears of separation, beginning by early adulthood and present in various contexts.
Dependent Personality Disorder Symptoms
Difficulty making decisions without advice, needs others to assume responsibility, difficulty expressing disagreement, goes to excessive lengths for support, seeks another relationship when one ends.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
A pervasive pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and control at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency, beginning by early adulthood and present in various contexts.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder Symptoms
Preoccupied with details, perfectionism that interferes with task completion, excessively devoted to work, unable to discard worthless objects, shows rigidity and stubbornness.
Cluster B Personality Disorders
Dramatic, emotional, or erratic disorders (Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic, Narcissistic).
Cluster C Personality Disorders
Anxious or fearful disorders (Avoidant, Dependent, Obsessive-Compulsive).
