International Relations (IR)
The segment of political science focusing on the relationships and interactions between countries (states) in the international system.
Trade Wars
Economic conflicts characterized by increased tariffs or other trade barriers between countries, often exemplified by the conflicts between the USA and China since 2017.
Yalta Conference
A meeting in February 1945 among leaders of the U.S., the Soviet Union, and the United Kingdom to discuss the postwar reorganization of Europe and how to end World War II.
Bretton Woods Institutions
International financial institutions established to create a framework for international economic cooperation, including the World Bank and IMF.
Collective Action
Joint action taken by a group of countries to address global issues like climate change or the refugee crisis.
Paris Climate Agreement
An international treaty signed in 2015 aimed at reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change through collective efforts of nations.
Refugee Crisis
A global issue with increasing numbers of displaced individuals seeking asylum, particularly highlighted by those crossing the Mediterranean Sea from Libya to Italy.
